We have a new release in our catalog! Yes, you heard right, new products have arrived and we are excited to tell you about them. The Tejero family has had two new additions this month of July, with which we are expanding the range of canned goods in natural and we will offer a new format of a characteristic delicacy of our coasts, and which until now was only available in the large format.
At USISA we continue working to offer a supply model that is fully adapted to the needs of consumers, updating the variety of products to the demands of the market, therefore, today we come to tell you about our latest additions.
Natural albacore fillets
Initially, and until relatively recently, canned natural products have been especially dominated by tuna, since it is the best-selling canned food in its different presentations. However, in recent years, there has been a significant increase in the interest in finding a 100% natural product, where the fish is preserved with its properties and is not accompanied by oil or sauces. This comes from having greater control of the properties that we give to the body, and enjoying the fish with its most authentic flavor.
At Usisa, as members of the Andalusian Regulatory Council for Melva and Mackerel, we have sought to incorporate our flagship products within this range, marked by the preservation of fish only with water and salt. What do we achieve with this coverage unlike the others?
All our toppings are made in a traditional way and preserved without any type of additives, using olive oil, sunflower oil, water, salt, and sauces as toppings for our products. In the particular case of the natural topping, it allows the fish to be preserved without any additional flavor, as in the case of oil, where the product itself transmits other benefits to the fish and enhances its flavor. Naturally, the flavors and properties of the fish remain intact, since its covering liquid only fulfills the function of keeping the product in perfect condition.
The canned albacore in natural allows us to expand our range of products, and make lovers of canned natural products find in our Tejero brand, three of the most consumed products in the canned sector, tuna, mackerel, and albacore.
Skipjack tuna
Here we have another of our additions to the Tejero brand, in small consumption formats. Until now, we had been offering striped bonito, also known as southern bonito or Atlantic bonito, in large formats, with 1kg and 1.8kg cans, and preserved in sunflower oil. A product especially demanded in the hotel industry.
Well, the time has come to introduce the user to this other delicacy that we have in the waters of our coast, and that cannot be related to the northern bonito, since we are talking about two very different products. While the northern bonito is a fish more familiar with tuna, the striped bonito is more familiar with mackerel.
The meat of the striped bonito is rich in Vitamin B6, B12, A, and C, as well as calcium, magnesium, and iron, and it is an ideal fish for canning, as it has a firm texture and a pleasant flavor.
With the aim of being able to enjoy it like the rest of canned fish, we have incorporated the 125 gr format of bonito in olive oil, giving it a more intense flavor and incorporating greater properties, thanks to the high potential of oleic acid.
